Failure: the slipping of hopper belt 

(1) The bucket elevator transports the materials by the friction torque between the hopper belt and the head wheel drive shaft. The hopper belt will slip without enough tension. In this case you should immediately stop and adjust the tensioning device to tighten the hopper belt. If the tensioning device cannot make the hopper belt with a completely tension, it suggests the trip of tensioning device is too short and it should be re-adjusted.

The correct solution: open the hopper belt connector, raise the tensioning device to the highest position, put the hopper belt from the head of the machine, and connect the hopper belt from end to end through the first round and the bottom round, make the belt stay in proper state then completely tension the tensioning device. At this time the untapped should not be less than 50% of the whole trip of tensioning device. 

(2) The overload of bucket elevator will increase the resistance torque and result in the slipping of hopper belt. In this case you should reduce the feeding amount of material and try to feed evenly. If it is still ineffective, it may be blocked by the too many materials in the hopper. In this case, you should stop the machine to check and remove the faults.

(3) The inner surface of first round drive shaft and hopper belt is too smooth, it will also decline the friction and result in the belt slipping. At this time you could give a coat of glue in the inner surface to increase the friction.

(4) The ineffective of the head wheel and the end round bearings will increase the moment of resistance and cause the slipping of hopper belt. In this case you should unpick and wash or replace the bearing.
